Indie-rock newcomers, Looming, recently announced their signing to No Sleep Records. With that announcement came the details of their debut full-length album, Nailbiter, which will be released on August 14th. When speaking about the album, drums/vocalist Brandon Carnes states, “Our goal with this album has been to make something that is dynamic and exciting the whole way through.” He goes on to say, “Musically, we draw from a lot of different pools of influence and I think you can hear it when you listen to Nailbiter front to back. Lyrically, the songs are super personal. We wanted this album to be an honest reflection of the real-life situations that inspired all the songs.”

South Carolina pop-punkers, Brigades, will be releasing their debut full-length, Indefinite, which will be released on July 28th via Pure Noise Records. When discussing the album, vocalist Darren Young says, “A lot went into recording this record…Not to cling to cliches but we really did put our blood, sweat, and tears into this one. It’s our first full length together and we’re really pleased with how it turned out.”
He goes on to say, “We were kind of falling apart at the seams the first week of recording, but it really pulled us back together. We wrote it as a collective and that’s not really our usual formula. There’s a lot of diversity. We’re really proud of it. I’ve had so much happen to me personally since Crocodile Tears that I had to rise about. A lot of different lyrical content. Depression, anxiety, fear, loneliness, shame, pride, love, hate, deficiency. There comes a point in the downfall of everyone’s life where you wonder if it’s indefinite. I dug as deep as I possibly could. Didn’t want to bottle anything up or hold back. Now that I got that release, I’m watching myself turn into a man that I’m happy to be finally. All thanks to this experience, these songs, and my band mates. Still learning, but that hill is getting easier to climb these days.” Needless to say, this album definitely took an emotional toll on the band, in what seems to be a positive way. We can’t wait to give it a listen!
