Ronnie James Dio’s 5th Year Remembrance Celebration

For those unaware, Ronnie James Dio (the voice of Rainbow, Black Sabbath and Dio) passed away nearly five years ago from gastric cancer on May 16, 2010. The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund will be hosting a weekend of celebratory activities in efforts to raise funds and bring awareness to the Ronnie James Dio SUAS Cancer Fund. The events will take place in Los Angeles, CA from May 15th to May 17th.

The celebration will include a variety of celebrities including: Best Metal Performance GRAMMY Awards winners Jack Black & Kyle Gass of Tenacious D, Eddie Money, Christian Martucci & Roy Mayorga of Stone Sour, Chris Broderick of Act of Defiance (formerly of Megadeath), Sean McNabb (formerly of Quiet Riot and Dokken) and Oni Logan of Lynch Mob, members of Dio (Craig Goldy, Simon Wright, Jimmy Bain, Rowan Robertson, and Scott Warren), Bjorn Englen of Dio Disciples, John Payne of Asia, and many more to be confirmed!

The Ronnie James Dio’s 5th Year Remembrance weekend will include a public Memorial Service, as well as a Bowl For Ronnie Celebrity Bowling tournament and the inaugural Ride For Ronnie motorcycle ride and BBQ. For more information on the Bowl For Ronnie Celebrity Bowling tournament, click here
