Seven Bands To See At Boston Calling: Major Lazer

With Boston Calling just a week away, we’ve decided to make a list of seven bands you do not want to miss. Whether they’re a headliner or an opener, whether they’re hip-hop, dance, rock & roll, or something somewhere in the middle, there are a handful of sets that you’re definitely going to want to pencil into your schedule.

Our list so far includes: Bearstronaut (#7) Lucius (#6), Viva Viva/Royal Teeth (#5), The Airborne Toxic Event (#4), and Vampire Weekend (#3)!

Today, we move on to #2: Major Lazer!

I’m not entirely sure what to even say about Major Lazer. Currently comprised of DJs Diplo, Walshy Fire, and Jillionaire, the electronic trio’s stage show is an energetic tidal wave of dancehall fury. Despite your musical tastes, I’d be hard-pressed to find someone in attendance capable of standing still while these three are at work. Also, it should be noted that Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig sings the vocal part on ML’s track “Jessica,” so keep an eye out for a potential live collaboration.
